I was gifted this beautiful umbrella tree that is now 6.5ā tall. Thereās a piece at the bottom that I want to separate from the mother plant but Iāve read that propagating umbrellas donāt always work. I donāt want to lose a mature, healthy, beautiful cutting. Should I leave it? Or do you have any tips to help me succeed? Fairly new plant mamma over here.

Get one of these and put it in the part you want to propagate
Thatās a great idea! You can also wrap in sphagnum moss and plastic wrap. This will allow that section to grow roots at its node before chopping it. Look up air layering on YouTube. But excellent idea
