   This could be a growth point. It may take a long time but worth trying! Refresh the water often, like every three days or so for best results. You’ll want secondary roots (roots coming off of roots) before you put it in dry medium!

     Eventually a little bump should appear near that line and become a root. You got this just make sure it’s getting adequate light. :D

     Yeah looks like a fresh top cut. Hopefully the node activates. Some folks use “support cuttings.” Theoretically a fast growing plant like pothos or tradescantia will leech their own growth hormones into the water and a slower growing plant will get a boost from it
