I am looking to plant the sprouts of my Hawaiian Spider Plant. When I propagated my other basic/normal spider plant, I cut off the shoots and put them in water to root. It worked well and the baby plants are doing great (yay!). However, I’ve been looking online to see if a Hawaiian Spider Plant propagates this way, and I keep seeing conflicting results. Some say to cut them off and put them in water, while some say to put the sprouts in soil while attached to the mother plant. What do I do? If I do the second, how do I know when to cut the cord, so to speak? I am definitely not an expert gardener by any means, so I welcome any and all advice! Edit: P.S. - if anyone wants to share if I should snip the floppy leaf in the picture, feel free to let me know. The rest are pretty upright, minus that floppy guy.

You can propagate the spider babies in several types of potting mix or in water. The key to success is to wait until the aerial roots form before cutting. I can’t see aerial roots on yours. Give it a few more weeks for the roots to set at least 1/2 inch long. Longer would be better. I’ve propagated spider babies in both soil and water. Use a rooting hormone powder if propagating in soil.
