Hello this is Martha! She is three years old and growing so beautifully. But I have a few questions #1 I think she might need to be repotted but I’m not sure what size I should go to or if she is fine in her current home. #2 I have been thinking of propagating her and I thought about clipping the vine at the bottom there but I haven’t propagated successfully before and was hoping for advice 🥰 let me know what you think!

    What plant is this? To me it looks like a pothos which like to be slightly root bound but if it’s very root bound where there are way more roots than soil then it may need a repot, for pothos and just as a general rule typically I only size up to a pot one or two more inches in width. Also depending on how often you like to water the material of the pot is something to consider but I always go for pots with drainage holes.

      She is a pothos. She was a small thing I picked up at Walmart when she started and she has just over taken the pot now. She gets water once a week and misted every few days. It has drainage but I never over fill my indoor plants I’d rather do less more frequently then cause fungus issues

      I only brought up the type of pots due to watering because things like plastic or glass will hold water a bit longer than something like terracotta which helps dry the soil a bit faster, as for propagation for my pothos plants I just cut around a node a day or so after watering the plant and put it into a glass bottle or something with some bottled water. Some people say to change the water weekly but plants will release their own rooting hormone into the water so changing the water frequently can cause slower root growth, I find it works best for me personally to drain half the water and refill it or to top it off as it evaporates, although if you see algae then id probably remove the cuttings and thoroughly rinse the container before adding new water.

    Mine propagate like craaazy! Easiest way is to put the clippings in a glass with water. Wait a few days/weeks until you see roots, let the roots grow a bit in watter so they are strong. Then you can plant them in soil.

    he you can see the roots forming, I change the water every 2-3 days and thats it. Im gonna wait until these roots are twice the size they are now… then I can por them in soil and they will be fine.
