Can a Monsterra be propagated without a node/root/arial? I have a piece in water with and elbow and new leaf emerging but it was broken off of the main plant.

i’ve had a monstera cutting like this with a node but no aerial root— it’s grown a LOT of roots the past few months but the growth didn’t really pick up until the first aerial root was about an inch long. keep it in water and add a small amount of water-soluble fertilizer (ideally intended for hydroponics) once it has grown roots, and it should be just fine

Looks like it’s a top cutting, which means it’ll still grow normally from what I understand 😊 not an expert, but it’ll just grow from the middle! I’ve seen posts on monstera groups I follow where people say that top cuttings are different from mid-cuts (where you need a node) so you should look into that more!! Good luck!!

Just wanted to follow up. What I thought was just a little elbow is most likely in fact, the node and a little root is coming out! I am hoping that this little guy is on a great path.
