    Both of these are spider plants not Liriope. One is the original green (non variegated) variety. The other looks like a curly Bonnie. Both spider plants can be grown in the garden in a protected area away from too much direct sunlight. I have several that self propagated many years ago. They have survived record heatwaves, hurricanes and hard freezes in zone 9. Liriope are ground covers usually seen along walkways and garden edges. They produce flower spikes, but, no spider baby-like appendages. They spread underground like mondo grass. They can be both solid green and variegated.
