My monstera cuttings have been in water for a month and the roots are very slow to emerge. Is this normal?

if you haven’t added fertilizer to the water growth will continue to be really slow as all the nutrients available to the plant are whatever is in your tap water. monstera are also heavy feeders so you may need to change the water (and refresh fertilizer) more often. i also suggest lowering the water level as leaves under water will likely rot

Liquid fertilizer/plant food will be your best friend with propagation along with weekly/biweekly water changes! Usually it won’t be roots sprouting from where you’ve cut but nodes growing from the plant and growing roots from there!
2 Me gustaI keep a rooted pothos cutting with my other cuttings to help stimulate root growth.
