My alocasia corms are finally growing after I switched them from perlite to fluval. Looking forward to watching these grow. Only wish I’d labeled them beforehand because now it’s a guessing game. (They are under domes, just removed for a peek)

I’m getting my first corm to grow soon, so I’m taking notes ✍️ I totally feel ya on not labeling them. Last winter I stored my dormant caladium and calocasia bulbs together before I realized that I’d have no idea which one was which lol. I’m keeping them separate and labeled this time

I’m so nervous about my alocasias and calladium going dormant! This is my first year with tropical plants and the first winter in a new house so I have no idea what to expect! I’d love any advice you have to give about keeping them alive through dormancy!

There’s some good info online. I kinda winged it last year and I did lose some of my caladiums. Apparently a plastic bag is NOT the way to go because they mold over 😬 I thought I had dried them out enough, but I guess not 😅 So airflow is part of the equation
