Hello! I purchased this cutting of a tradescantia blushing bride to propagate and it’s looked fine till I potted it a few days ago. I thought it had a decent root system. Yesterday I noticed the brown spots forming. The newer growth at the top looks good tho. Any ideas? TIA!

It could be a fungal infection, cut any infected leaves off and wash your hands after. U can also spray with fungicide but I don't have experience with that so I can't comment.

Thanks! I bought a lemon meringue pothos on clearance @ Lowe’s last week. It had brown spots on it’s leaves and was sitting in a lot of water. I didn’t think a fungal infection. I just thought overwatering, but maybe a fungal infection that spread to this little guy? 😟 eek.

I don't know a lot about fungal infections and them spreading to different plants but best to keep them away from your others just in case. Make sure to cut any infected leaves off aswell. I'm dealing with a fungal infection on my pothos, it infected most of my cuttings propagating and also the mother plant so I ended up cutting all the leaves off the cuttings and letting new leaves grow and I cut the mother plant up as it were and now they are growing new leaves.

Yeah, I moved both of them to be safe to a separate area. I did a little google searching and I guess they can spread. It may not be anything fungal, but I will tread carefully. Thanks again! 😊
