Hey everyone , happy Saturday! I Just picked up this amazing creeping philodendron and I am looking to propagate it. Looks like it has some nodes on it but I’m just not to sure where to cut it??

as long as u have atleast one node you’ll have a growth point so it’s completely up to u on the size of cutting you would like

I believe you’ve got a rhaphidophora decursiva. But they are kind of similar to some philodendrons and monstera. I haven’t tried chopping mine yet, but I’ve been thinking about it. It seems like they can go a long time between actually popping out a leaf, so those stems do get scraggly looking. If you want to be extra sure, look for little aerial roots to include in the section that won’t be connect to the main root ball
0 Me gustaI have two dragon tails like this in 4 inch pots, Epipremnum Pinnatum. I bought them in summer and have not repotted yet. They are generally happy in high humidity getting early morning sun on the north side of my patio plus bright light all day. They are in a coco coir potting mix. Your plant will do well with propagation since it’s mostly stem. It had too little light. So, most leaves are gone, the leaf nodes are very far apart reaching and trying to climb for sun. I would cut all of it leaving one node with a leaf above the soil on each vine. New growth will start. Repot 1 size larger. Put in bright light or a grow light.
0 Me gustaPropagation thoughts: You can get at least 10 cuttings from the vine with two leaf nodes on each cutting. Use a rooting hormone powder. Put two or three cuttings back into the pot for fuller growth. My plants each put out one new leaf a month this summer. Propagate the other cuttings in soil/water/sphagnum moss or all of the above to increase your chance of success. Keep soil/moss evenly moist not soaking wet. Change water weekly or sooner if dirty when propagating in water. Move cuttings to a small pot with a coco mix soil when roots reach 2 inches or longer. I use a timed release fertilizer on my dragon tails. This is a data dump. Ask if I confused you. Good luck with it. 🪴🍀
