Just picked up this monstera. First time with these plants not yet in soil. Was rooting in moss. Planning to move it into mix of pearlite/moss/fluval aquarium stratum. How do I know how often to mist/water? Also concerned with black spot on side of stem but it is not squishy nor are any of the roots. All tips/comments welcome. Thanks!

That’s some of the best variegation I’ve seen!

Nice cutting! Your mix sounds good. I’m a chunky soil kind of person myself lol but if it’s coming from moss, that’ll probably be a good in-between. I would dust the black spot with Ceylon cinnamon or a fungus treatment, depending on if you prefer a gentle treatment or commercial strength. That’s very good that the roots aren’t squishy! I personally choose humidifier over misting. I feel that misting a plant can leave rot spots if it gathers in a crevice and can’t dry out right away. If you do prefer misting, I would make sure you have a circulating fan in your plant area if you don’t already. I hope that helps. I can’t wait to see updates on that beautiful specimen ☺️
