I’m new to plants in general and I’ve only successfully propagated 1 jade plant leaf before this. I had no idea what i was doing but now that I have this app I would love to get some tips and help when it comes to jade plants specifically. I got this bunch 2-4 days ago have been letting them sit but a few are turning dark purple/black at the tip. Is there something im doing wrong or anything i could do to improve the process?

i may be wrong but i think it could be the bag keeping in moisturizer. i used to mist my propagations and it would lead them to rotting. For mine i don’t do anything to them. i’m propagating some jade leaves right now and it seems to be doing well on its own. id personally say to rid the bag and leave them alone, everything they need comes from the leaf 💚 best of luck !

I agree with removing the bag to decrease the humidity. I find neglect the best way to propagate succulents in soil!😁 is better to under water than to overwater. I’ve successfully neglected many dropped leaves and they desperately put out new growth when they have they have to take water from their leaves. It takes weeks. I mist or trickle a little water once a week if I feel guilty.

I heard neglecting them was also good and I’ll do my best to continue doing so and thank you for your help! To future growth!!

The tips are turning colors because they are giving moisture to new growth. They will continue to dry out until there is a new baby plant established.

The one I successfully propagated did end up turning colors but not until later on so I’m unsure. Gonna have a bit of trial and error ig 🤧

My jade plant goes red/purple from lots of direct sunlight but it’s not harmful to the plant but if you did want the colouring you just take it out of the direct light ( not sure if this is the case with yours)
