I’ve always loved how fiddle leaf figs look, but because of their reputation as being hard to keep alive I’m a bit hesitant to buy one just for it to die as soon as I get it home…😂 anyone got any tips as I’m a beginner plant parent! Thanks

I was given one as a house warming gift. It was hard the first year I didn’t know where would be best (I also named him Rupert). He dropped all but three leaves and I thought I killed him. After putting him in a different pot and ignoring him more he’s thriving. I think it always goes back to water every other week and just make sure they get good light. I use rain water and that also seems to help if you can

They also just hate being moved! so I just leave mine be in a high light location and it’s grown a lot. I just know when I have to move again I’ll basically be starting over

My tip is just to get a rubber tree instead lol jk but not really. They’re so hard!
