I want to hear y'alls opinions on this. Is proplifting stealing? Me personally, I would definitely call pulling cuttings purposely off plants stealing but I see taking fallen leaves from the floor as perfectly acceptable considering they'll just be swept into the trash anyway. What do y'all think about this?

Interesting question! I think personally, the line for me would be whether it’s something a store or wherever you are is going to throw away. If it would be considered ā€œtrashā€ then I don’t think this is a form of stealing. Breaking off a leaf or branch or whatever it may be crosses a different sort of line because then you are actually damaging someone’s property. I still haven’t decided the line for ā€œpublic plantsā€ like in a park or the like.šŸ˜†

this! i’ve saved several succulent leaves from the shelves or floor in big box stores, and grown plants out of a few. however, ripping a piece of a plant out of a pot in a store or someone’s home is definitely theft. i do think it’s okay to take a small piece of a plant on public property though, especially if it’s outdoors and summertime— it’ll grow right back

I agree! I will pick things from the floor or soil, but not the pant itself!
