I’m propagating my partner’s Grandma’s plant. She’s since passed away and it’s in the care of his mom but it’s been alive since the 1960s! So with that being said, I don’t want to mess it up lol! It’s an Arrowhead plant and I have 6 cuttings from it that I am propagating in water. They are already starting to grow roots. How much roots do I need? And when I plant them, should I plant them all in one larger pot since they are such long cuttings?

I usually wait for plants to have secondary roots to put them in soil or be at least 2-3 inches long. Syngoniums don’t mind being pot bound so I would stick with a small or medium pot for a while - they prefer to be slightly dry and large pots collect and hold onto water more

I have several in water and have propagated directly to soil. They do well in both. You don’t need very long roots to put in soil. Syngoniums are aggressive growers. They prefer bright light, high humidity, moist soil and regular fertilizer. Most of mine are in 6” pots. I water the ones on the patio (heatwave) daily. The indoor ones are watered roughly every three days. They are in 2” and 4” pots. I recommend you put one or two cuttings in a 6” pot, now, or wait until the roots are longer then put them in a pot. They are really too tall for a small starter pot. Use rooting hormone to boost the roots. Good luck. 🍀
