Hi all! I have an incredible pepperomia that I have split a few times and all parts are doing well. However, I had a loose leaf that I tried to propagate. I placed it in water until roots grew and then moved to the soil. A light tug tells me its definitly rooted in the soil, but the look of the leaf has not changed at all. Is that expected, or should this be growing more? Is there anything I can do to help it grow? Thank you!

typically freshly transferred plants will work on filling out their root system first, so they are stable and established enough in the pot to grow new stems and leaves. also, it looks really wet in there! be cautious, peperomias are used to well draining soil and they are semi-succulent so they can hold onto considerable amounts of water in their leaves

It is deceivingly wet! I watered it (after confirming the soil was dry) immediately before taking this picture so the water was still dripping down haha. Thank you for the help!

no problem! given a few weeks i’m sure you’ll see little plantlets coming up :-)

When I’ve propped peperomia from a leaf, it’s taken a long time before new growth pops up. You might have to be patient
