This is my first time propagating my philodendrons (any of my plants actually, at least in the sense of rooting them in water and then transferring to soil). Would you say these roots are too long now to successfully transfer to soil? I heard if you let them stay in water too long they will die from shock when you put them in soil. So now I’m worried these have been in here way too long and I don’t want to kill them!

All I’m going to say is that I’ve never heard that before. I put my neon heart leaf philodendron cutting in water and once the roots were long like that I put it in soil and ever since it’s been just fine! If you do put yours in soil, I hope it turns out good also.

I’ve kept a leaf in water for many years. Then, planted it in soul with its mass of roots. It’s doing fine. Just plant in potting soil. Add a little rooting powder to give a boost to the roots

Mine had crazy long roots and they’re both potted now and so perky and happy 😃
