Hi friends! Quick question: I’ve been water propagating some pothos cuttings for a while now (honestly probably a few months because I haven’t had time to transfer them into soil until now; also this was my first attempt at propagation in general). I’m a little uncertain what I should do because many of them have super long, healthy(-ish?), well-established roots, but some very few, smallish leaves and super short stems/vines. Honestly, some of the few leaves that there are look a little less than peak condition either. The attached picture is a pretty good example of root to leaf ratio. Any advice on how to approach transferring them to soil? Or how to approach reviving them a bit more to give them a better chance? Thanks so much! 🥰

I have kept cuttings in a jar for many years! Just get the right potting mix and a planter big enough for the extra long roots. Put soil at the bottom giving sufficient room for the roots to grow. Form a mound and carefully spread out the roots. Cover the roots with soil. Rooting hormone is probably not needed with so many roots. But, it won’t hurt. Good luck.

Thank you so much! The specific advice on how-to position the roots in the soil is especially helpful :)

all of the above is wonderful advice!! if you’re feeling brave, you could also try pruning the root ball a bit. i’ve never personally done this because I am way scared to, but I’ve seen people in prop. videos do it!
