This leaf fell off my Mexican snowball so I decided to plop it in water, not knowing what would happen. We’ll a few weeks later there are roots and a whole new plant growing! I’m not sure how to now transfer it to soil. Guidance welcome.

Cover the roots with soil and leave the leaves above the soil.

water roots are very delicate, so try to keep the soil moist for at least a few days to a week while the roots adjust (standard potting mix is good for this since it stays wet so long). looks like you have plenty of healthy roots, so it should adjust just fine even without much attention.

Bury the larger original leaf that everything is sprouting from?

No, it’s not necessary. That leaf can still contribute to the growth of the pup.

the original leaf will continue to photosynthesize and help the baby grow if you leave it attached and unburied, i find succulents let me know when their original leaf is spent, it will yellow and shrivel eventually

Thanks for the tips. I’ll carefully get the new roots in the dirt and leave the new plant plus OG leaf above the soil 🤞🏻
