Hey propagation peeps! I just took a cutting of this variegated string of hearts (grown from a cutting of my friends) and am now wondering how the main plant will grow back. Hoping I didn’t make it that short forever. Has anyone done this before?

Plants like to be trimmed as long as they’re healthy. It stimulates more growth

Have you propagated before? It’s cool to see those roots start to develop at the plain stem in the water. It feels like a miracle.

It is really cool! So many people show their propagation pictures because it just feels amazing for it to work. But it does it almost always. Feels like a miracle

I cut back my pothos and have a few different ones now, and have a pilea I grew from a cutting too. It’s so rewarding!

Yes. I have some succulents, African Violets, and some from a Christmas cactus that are taking forever!

If you throw a pothos cutting in with other cuttings they will root faster. Learned that from Planterina on YouTube 😃 I guess they give off a rooting hormone.

LOTS of times! I have a few Ceropegia woodii plants that I let dangle down. Once one vine gets almost to the floor, I’ll snip off about half of it and prop it up. The old plant will eventually grow a new vine out of one of the nodes (where the leaves are attached). Nothing will keep this plant down except maybe overwatering.
