So I decided to try and grow sunflowers and so far it’s going great but I’m no plant expert so I really don’t know what the next steps are, do i leave them in here a little longer, put them in dirt, put them in water, I’m just not really sure please let me know if you have any advice!

if they all have a good amount of roots you can go ahead and plant them in a pot ! that’s what i think

Feel free to take anyone else’s advice. I’ve only seen them planted in dirt but I think you could now plant them into something like little yogurt cups or something that lets each seed have it’s own pot because they l’re heavy feeders and you’ll improve your chances by not letting them mingle and tangle roots. The seeds will need to transition to soil. If you have vermiculite, sand, and/or sphagnum this might make it easier to do because they’re used to being really wet right now. And they need quite a bit of water as seedlings it looked like from pictures in the article I read. It recommended non-peat soil. Maybe because you want them wet but not smothered. I would make a good pocket of moisture retaining, but aerated media surrounded by a soul medium. As soon as you can get them acclimated to soil you should plant them into the ground or to pots. I don’t think they like to be transferred once they get any size to them at all. So hopefully by the time they are about the size of a lemon you can get them potted. They make really big thick roots and need fertilizing to grow.

I think Nancy is just as right as I am. They’re either going to make it or not. I saw warnings about slugs and snails loving to eat them; probably because you’ll need to keep them well-watered until they get strong

Put in soil, space apart! That’s one huge thing I learned the hard way. They grow faster in the ground. I started from seed to stalk 20 and have 1 left. 1! In sun. In the earth. Untouched/protected. These babies are work!
