Ooh. I have some similar pieces rescued from my local Home Depot. They were just laying on the bottom shelf by the succulents. Almost getting crushed by the bins holding the plants. I put them in a clear glass with water in the bottom. Thinking maybe I need to live them to soil to propagate?

Hello! there’s many methods of propagations, i’ve only done this one. i have heard of water propagations ( never done it) but i personally find more success with placing them on top of soil. therefore the roots will embed themselves into the soil so it’s easier to move them to a pot when they’re ready! i’m pretty sure any propagation method can work just fine as long as we let them do their thing and not touch them

how long do you wait before roots start growing? i’ve tried propagation twice before with little success and ended up giving up on my efforts because i was too impatient and didn’t leave the plants be. you seem like you kinda know what you’re doing so i’d appreciate any tips on propogating

hi, before letting them propagate, i let them callous for a few days, without letting it callous it’ll most likely rot. i got these props on june 25th so about 23 days ago. they just started showing roots and still got some time to go, just be patient and ignore them!, the first time i propagated i continuously picked it up and it eventually withered the roots and died, propagation is really easy! we just tend to overthink it 😂 good luck !💕

okay thanks! like you said i kept messing with mine too bc i was overexcited. i’ll try my best to wait for them to callous and then wait even longer for them to grow next time i propagate. thanks for the tips!
