I’ve been propagating my pothos and after a couple weeks, they now have these roots growing. Are they big enough to plant or should I continue to let them grow longer? Also the node next to it hasn’t sprouted yet but has that weird white filmy stuff coming out of it? Does this mean anything like it won’t grow any roots or is there still hope for it? I’ve been changing the water every few days.

    I usually find that a good rule of thumb is to wait until either 1) the water roots are 2-3 inches, or 2) the roots have roots, or the main root has little roots branching off of it. Good luck!

      My fave is the roots have roots (secondary roots)

    the white fluffy stuff is actually the cutting protecting itself, i can’t remember what it’s called but i thought it was mold at first on my pothos cuttings years ago so i went on a research spree

      Thanks for sharing this! I would have been paranoid of mold. Good to know it’s not.

      I read somewhere it’s some kind of bacteria that will harm the plant but I haven’t found that to be true so far

    I would say to just wait as long as you can! It’s never too late, but it can be too early!
