My sister gave me a stem cutting of a Prince of Orange Philodendron. Any advice on how to root the cutting? Am I doing it right by putting it in water?

Basically! You can do this or directly putting it in soil or perlite. But I have always done water. But if you plan to pot it up eventually, then don’t let the water roots get too developed. It’s harder for it to transition back into soil sometimes.

Once you have secondary roots formed, you can transition it to soil ☺️

I’ve always done water, and it works great. Second the information above. But might it be a mccolley’s finale instead of prince of orange? The shade of the mature leaves are deeper. And I think that the leaf that is emerging is more of a reddish color. The new leafs on prince of orange are light orange.
