I just got this black velvet alocasia not even two weeks ago and upon bringing it home I noticed this… I’m assuming it’s a baby! But where do I go from here?

    If it is a corm, I would separate it just to avoid them fighting for nutrients or you can keep it together for a bit & see how it goes

    That is new leaf forming. It’s not from a corm. Its sprouting off the mother plant. Just getting a new 2nd leaf. All good! Just water when soil is 50% dry, like normal. I will say your pot/soil looks a but too big for a 1-2 leaf plant. Be careful with overwatering. Wait till the new leaf has fully cone in and hardened off to downsize your pot, so not to stress it too much.

      I agree about the pot but I just recently purchased from FB and I’m scared to repot right now but waiting seems like a great idea! Thanks so much! -also excited about a new leaf possibility:)
