Can anyone help me with my fiddle leaf fig tree, Betsy. I’ve had my baby for a little over two years - a gift from my son-in-law. I went on vacation for a month exactly a year ago. During that time I had my daughter come in and water all my plants. She grabbed a jug that had neem oil to spray the ones that would get these lil bugs. She thought it was just water and poured it on ALL of my plants. I came home to brown spots and burned edges on my fiddle leaves. I cut the leaves where the edges were brown around six months after it happened. I don’t think she got too much into this particular plant as opposed to the other ones she LITERALLY killed. Or maybe my beautiful Betsy is just resilient and she survived it. I’ve never had a tree like her before, so I simply maintained it with water and every month a hearty drink of miracle grow. She was stretching and even after the trauma, she was sprouting new growth. Up until recently I started to notice her leaves were turning brown then yellow and quickly falling off. There are now two branches completely bald and the leaves look like they’re drooping. I’ve even fed her banana water. Maybe it’s root bound. Nothing has really changed other than not watering it on schedule like normal. I’m thinking I should change the dirt. Any suggestions would be a great help. Also what kind of dirt should I use when I change it out? I’ll post pics of the bald branches and the leaves that have fallen. Thanks in advance.

She usually sits in front of that window to the right and the left branch extending out toward the left hangs right in front of the center window. She loves it there. I just don’t know what is happening to her right now.

I’d definitely take a look at her roots. Since she’s been growing so quickly, her roots may not have any place to go anymore. If you repot her, use well-draining potting mix. Also, I noticed you have moss around the base. Are you sure it hasn’t been holding too much moisture in with the roots? Good luck and keep us posted. She’s a beautiful plant! 💚

I have three FLFs, and I’ve used specialty soil made just for FLFs, I got mine on Amazon. Definitely check to see if it needs to be re-potted. Keep us posted! Good luck! 🪴

Once you figure out the soil situation.., Seems like she may benefit from with some kind of support pole, or maybe chop and propagate her longest stalk, then notch above a few nodes as low down as you can to stimulate new bushier growth lower down, so she’s not so top heavy.
