Any advice for transitioning water propagations to soil? I had a lantana water prop with roots about 2 inches long, but it died right away when I moved it into soil. I have a couple other water props going and I don’t want those ones to die! 🤞🏼

Can I suggest using moist perlite in a jar instead of water propping? I don’t think I’ve ever lost a prop using this method. The perlite creates good air flow and also provides stability. Once I learned how to do this I almost never use water anymore! And you can reuse it over and over :)

Also make sure the roots are longer than 2 inches before transitioning! Wait till they’re closer to 6 inches so the plant has more of a root system.

The other option would be to transition from water prop into Letchuza Pon. Depends on the plant, but since your cuttings already will have formed “water-roots” its the perfect opportunity to take advantage of semi-hydro substrate. No rot or fungus gnats! Check you-tube for vast amounts of Pon tutorials.

I’ve never heard of either of the methods the commenters said! I’m definitely going to check them out because I also struggle when I put mine in soil lol
