So this pretty lady gave me 12 corms when I changed her soil. I put them in perlite and keep them out in the balcony like this. I sprayed them with a little water. Any tips or adjustments?

Scraping off the thin brown sheath at tips with your fingernail can help them to push out. Also a heat mat will speed up the birth. Check you-tube for visual tutorials on this. Tons of them.

Thank you! I live in FL so I think the 85 to 90 degree weather should help lol. I’m going to try scraping the sheath on a couple of them to see if it makes a difference.

I haven’t tried the perlite method, I just did the bottle cap method and it worked great. Covered with a cup (like yours) for extra humidity. Had roots within 2-3 weeks and a leaf within 2 after that. Agree with scraping off the brown sheath from tips. They’re about to push out a second leaf at 6 weeks in.

Thank you!
0 J'aimeCould you please tell me the name of this plant? I have a couple that were flourishing for a long time and now they’re not doing so well. They’re dying down really fast before a new shoot comes up. I had more leaves before. Not sure what’s happening. This is one pot and then I have another pot filled with these beauties where there’s a few more starting to sprout back. Pic will be below this post.
