Hello! I recently cut off some of my Chinese Evergreen to propagate it in water! Am I doing this correctly? I cut it last Friday and put it in water. Please let me know! Thank you :)

It looks good to me but I would take off the leaves that are dying!

Right… unfortunately for us humans, the cutting can’t both produce new roots and maintain all those leaves at the same time, so you need to remove like half of those bottom leaves (or as many as you can bare to part with) to allow it to divide its energy differently. I have a hard time with losing the leaves in order to create roots too, but such is the way it is!

I’ve had one growing in water for more than a year. I put it in a clear vase so I can see the roots( so pretty). I change the water about once a month and occasionally I will add a little diluted fertilizer. It puts out new leaves also. It’s doing great. I have water propagating all over the house. Easy care, I love seeing the roots.
