I have a question. I have… probably About six spider plants in my front yard, growing in the ground. I don’t know exactly how old they are, but they get morning sun, and get sun until maybe about 1-2pm and they get rained about once a week, more or less. They look to be doing perfectly fine, except that they are not producing offshoots! Are they even supposed to, or am I doing something wrong?

After 1-2pm, they don’t get direct sun anymore, they are in the shade.

Spiders tend to produce platelets when they run out of room. They may just need to get bigger. My mother grows them in her flowerbeds and they are RAMPANT. Spiderlets everywhere! In all seriousness, they are considered invasive in some parts of the world. Good luck!

My spiderplant is indoors, and puts out baby plantettes aka baby spiderettes in the spring OR when it’s rootbound..
