i was given a propagation of my friend’s rex begonia. she’s been in water for about five days, and i’m starting to wonder when she’ll grow roots. i’ve included a picture of what i thought was the start of a root, but now i’m not sure. i’m keeping her in a dome to up the humidity, will that make her root faster? she’s in an east facing window that gets about 4-6 hours of sunlight per day.

    Roots should be coming in soon, for my propagation it took abt a week just for a little tiny root to start

    Try using water other than tap water? I’ve heard that filtered water is better than tap for growing roots quickly.

      my water is super salty because i have a well, i’ve been using distilled water :)

    I use liqui-dirt for my propagations, and I throw a pothos (they give off rooting hormones) cutting in with just about everything. They have both worked very well for me.

      Hurry up and get one! They’re ALWAYS at nurseries. Super cheap. You can grab a small one, I’ve seen them for under $10 sometimes… and then you can fill out that pot, just by using it to make other propagations. Promise, it’s money we’ll spent.
