Hey all. I inherited this plant that I’m 99% sure is some kind of Dracaena, however it is like 8 feet tall and very top heavy. It tends to tip over and spill its pot. I’m wondering if chopping the top where the healthy leaves are would be viable as a propagation and if so how to do it?

You could add some wooden stakes in there for support and tie it with a string or something like how they do with baby trees ☺️ oop editing my comment because I see the wooden stake lol you could use command hoods on the wall seeing it’s close to it and maybe use the string method that way

Yup, you can actually get quite a few plants out of one. You can lop off the top with enough stem that you want and just plant it. Then the lower half, you can cut pieces of... like 6-8" each and plant them individually as stumps. Then the base or butt cutt will also regrow

I have one! I lop off dying leaves and rotate the plant so they get sun. Don’t take off a lot of leaves at once. Leave the ones with the most green on them and gradually let the plant recover. I’m not an expert but I have cut a v into the leaf tips that have browning just to improve the appearance. It doesn’t kill the leaf and is hardly noticeable.
