Can this plant be propagated? I’ve tried to propagate, but the cutting just withered. I don’t want to keep cutting if it won’t do anything. Any suggestions on the best way for this plant?

    It’s a scindapus and not as fast growing as a pothos. But, it can still be propagated the same way. Put a cutting in water. Try other mediums like perlite, potting mix. or sphagnum moss. It should grow well in water in a warm location with bright indirect light or a grow light. Clean the water each week or when cloudy. Be sure a leaf node is under water at all times. You can use rooting hormone liquid to give the roots a boost. You should see roots emerge in about two weeks near the leaf node. The cutting should be about 2 or 3 nodes long. Longer cuttings can take longer to produce roots when the plant’s energy goes into maintaining the longer vines and leaves. Remove all leaves that are underwater to prevent rot and infection. Plant it when the roots are at least 2” long. 🪴🍀

    Scindapsus are pretty easy to prop. Water, moss, moss / perlite, stratum, stratum / perlite are all viable methods. Make sure you have a healthy node when you take the cutting. Higher humidity, warm temps and extra light help.

    I have this guy, and it’s my hardest out of all my scindapsus to propagate, but you definitely can do it! Don’t be discouraged :) I found the most successful method with this one is water. I wait until it has a decent root system formed, and I start to see new foliage growth before moving to soil.
