SunnyWater propagation works. I also put them into a little 2” or 3”pot of soil with lots of perlite for good drainage. I add powdered rooting hormone to the roots when in soil to give it a boost. I also add diluted fertilizer with SuperThrive Plant Vitamins to both the soil and water propagations every 2 weeks. The photo is of a baby spider plant propagated in that recycled 2 inch pot. She was getting 5 hours of direct morning sunlight at that time. 🪴🍀

Random StrandsHow long do they take to root usually? Just getting ready to do 8 babies but I haven’t propped a spider plant yet.

I have one that I stuck into a container of vermiculite and water. I love vermiculite because it’s generally finer than perlite, and because it’s a solid substrate, the transfer to soil is less of a shock for the roots. I also just feel like things prop quicker in in than in just standard water props.
