Hey everyone, Quick question, this is a bamboo plant that ended up rotting at the stems. I cut it off and propagated the remaining piece which has grown extremely long roots (about 2 inches). I know these plants are often left in water but should I switch it to soil already?

Lucky bamboo will grow in either water or soil. 2 in Roots is adequate if you want to move it to the soil. It's still may go through a time of transition because water roots are not the same as soil roots. If you grow it in water use filtered distilled or rain water and give it just a little bit of fertilizer every now and then. Lucky bamboo is not a true bamboo it's a Dracaena sandriana

Thank you so much I usually change the water weekly and put liquid fertilizer every few weeks. If I leave it in water will it grow the long stem again or will that only happen if it is planted in soil or will it begin to die out since it is used to being in water?

It can get tall in both water and soil. In theory, it would not die if you planted in soil but it will take some time to transition to fresh roots. In water, it needs very little fertilizer. I think I would use just a drop of fish emulsion. If you put it in soil, don't overwater it. It will like to be moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil is dry.
