These are 5 separate monstera cuttings, ready to pot. I plan on using a mix of 2/3 cactus soil and 1/3 standard potting soil. Can I plant all 5 cuttings in a single pot? And if so, what size pot is ideal? Any tips on potting techniques or soil composition is welcome. Thanks yall!!! 🌱🪴🌞

yes, you can put them all in one pot, abt 1-2 inches bigger than the combined root ball. i like to put a base layer of my soil in the pot, probably 1/8th of the pot hight, then put the plant in, and then put the rest of the soil in! i like shaking the pot to help the soil fill into any gaps. it's not a very big range of motion, but more like the kind of shake you use to get just a little bit of salt out of a shaker. also, having one of these 'scoop' thingies has been very helpful, i highly recommend getting one! i'm pretty sure you can find em on amazon. also also, keep the soil moist for a while - this helps the roots adjust to the new medium! good luck, hope this helped!!

You could put them all in one pot but keep in mind how huge monsters can get. I think I would put them in at least two pots or more.

I fully agree that they grow big and fast. You will often repot if all are placed in one pot. It’s not a bad thing. You just have to watch for root bound conditions.

I would start them off in a single pot, I've propagated monstera cuttings. Yes they grow fast but this way you aren't overwhelmed trying to keep the soil moist in the beginning to try to acclimate from water to soil. Good luck

Yes for a fuller plant or separate for more plants, each pot should be 2 inches bigger than the root ball. If putting together I wouldn’t do bigger than a 6”

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate all the comments. I also have a mother plant that I found in a free pile. I’m thinking about just cutting it all down so that I can experiment with more cuttings. If planting all 5 cuttings in one pot is it important at this stage to stake them so the backs of the cutting are all facing the same direction? Or could you pot them all in the center, with backs all facing a central stake?

personally i would put them all facing one way, but you could center them if its going to be in the middle of the room and gets light from multiple directions - the leaves turn to face the light, so keep that in mind :)
