my first time using and propagating in leca. did i do this right? i’m hoping i can save my monstera that i’ve had for 2.5 years that never had any fenestrations and recently started yellowing 😭 i repotted the other cutting that had decent roots and and tiny stem in sphagnum moss so i am being hopeful for this one

Hi there, congrats! Growing in LECA is fun! I would reduce the amount of nutrient solution to just below where the roots are to avoid them rotting. And if the roots are already above that water line, I would still try to decrease it a little just in case :) Best of luck! 🌿🌿🌿

thank you! i’m only starting with water for now but will decrease it a bit. how often do you put nutrients when using leca? i have super thrive and instant plant food tablets. will either of those be enough when diluted?

I use nutrients with every single watering. Caution with organic fertilisers and additives - they are intended to be used with soil, not water. They require the interaction of soil microbes etc to actually become bioavailable to the plant. So find a hydroponic fertiliser - this is almost always liquid and you use tiny amounts diluted in water. Hydroponic fertilisers are formulated to be bioavailable to the roots when a plant is grown in water. PS if you haven’t had a look there already, I highly recommend doing some reading on The LECA Addict website (www.lecaaddict.com). There’s a wealth of info there and is where I started my LECA journey. Feel free to ask any questions as you go! And PS the fertiliser I use is GT Foliage Focus 🌿🌿🌿
