This is my first Curly Spider plant (Vent…) All of these were shoved in a 4” plant pot about 6 months ago. I “rescued it” and divided a put all the babies in this 12” pot. It’s really starting to puff out now, but when I washed it today I noticed this new extension. Do I clip the piece off and root it in water ? It leave it attached and wait for air foots to form?

Either way works. It most likely won’t form air roots, but could do just fine connected to the main plant. Personally, I’d cut it off and put it in water just because I love to have more green around!

Do you cut where it attaches to the main plant or just below the joint?

I’ve been told to cut them as close to the base of the plantlet as possible without cutting any of the baby plant or roots. They grow on stems coming from the mother plant, so cut along that stem where it meets the plantlet.
