Trying to propagate some english laurel, as cut off large stem. Never done this before and know i am definitely doing it wrong. Is it even possible? Any advice appreciated

    English laurel usually does well when propagated by cuttings, so you should be good. Use sterilized cutters (wipe the blade with hydrogen peroxide or isopropyl alcohol.) Cut a section with at least one or two nodes (on this plant, nodes are where the leaf meets the stem.) Cut first at a 45° angle slightly above a node on the main plant, then cut another 45° angle below a node on the cutting (recutting closer to the node can help it root.) Remove any leaves that would end up beneath the soil or water. Apply rooting hormone (optional for this species because it's easy to root) and put the cutting directly into soil or water.
