Do folks here plant water props right in soil or do you add soil to the tube a little at a time? (And is this prop ready for that?)

I would wait until roots are a minimum of 3”, maybe even more since this is a delicate plant. For water props, once roots are long enough (the longer the better chance of survival once u plant in soil), then I’ll place into 100% soil.
7 J'aimeI typically add just a sprinkle of soil to the water of my propagations because it’s always promoted root growth in my plants. But I agree with the above, definitely wait until those roots are 3-4 inches, then 100% soil
2 J'aimeRoots on roots on roots was a great tip I was given, so essentially it branches at least twice per string of root (hope that makes sense)
0 J'aimeO just plop them in soil and honestly it depends on the plant but when I have the amount of root that you have I shove them puppies In soil. But it really depends on the plant. When you have a LOT of water roots it can cause more shock to the plant to shove it right in dirt though because it goes from an oxygen rich environment to one with much less so it suffocates it a little bit. Waiting for it to be another inch or two won’t hurt though.

0 J'aimeI’ve heard waiting until the roots are 6 inches is best before planting them in soil. The more roots you have the better
