I thought I would treat my pachira tree to some outside time while it was really warm one day not realizing it would burn in the sun 🫣. I have been nursing it back, but I also noticed it’s not bushy like other peoples. Is there a way to make it bushier? I live in BC and we have long winters it tends to look terrible over winter but lovely in summer. Does it need a growing light? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated

Hi! I recently got these plants for free from work because they were dying, these are the first plants I’ve ever owned and was wondering what I could do to save them/not kill them! I’m completely new to keeping plants and have no clue what I’m doing, any help is appreciated!

Hi there, My dragon plant has got very skinny in recent months, and not really holding itself up. He had been ok for a number of years but not happy now. He’s never been repotted. I’ve no idea what to do as some online advice says to chop off the tops and replant, others say repot. I’m not sure if he’s already dead? Advice appreciated!

ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS IS!?! IT LOOKS LIKE EGGS BUT I REALLY HOPE ITS NOT. My string of bananas has been having a rough time so I decided to give it some fresh fry soil and I took it out of the pot to find this… about to chuck this outside if I find out these are eggs 😭😭

I purchased this sad Chinese Evergreen on clearance around March. Since then she has struggled with pests and was dropping leaves (she would push one out and drop two). You can see the progression (or rather regression). Eventually I just chopped her and stuck her in water. She has a healthy root system and has been pushing out new growth points as of late. Any tips on keeping her full as she grows back?

About 6 months ago this philodendron birkin experienced root rot and I repotted it in chunkier soil. It’s only gotten worse since then. Each new leaf starts to brown immediately. It gets water when the soil is completely dry and it’s been a few feet away from an east facing window. Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts?

Has anyone tried notching a dieffenbachia? I’ve tried to research this but came up short. To my understanding, you can notch any plant that has a more tree-like harder stem, which it seems like dieffenbachia would meet that requirement, so theoretically think it should work… but wondering if anyone else has tried it??

I need advice on my variegated frydrek. It’s been about 3 weeks since I brought him home and he’s doing okay but not okay. I lost 2 leaves and losing one more currently, but gained a new leaf. The issue is it’s HIGHLY variegated and the new leaf being pushed out is 95% white. How do I stop it from committing plant suicide and push out less variegated leaves. Currently in fluval stratum and under a grow light getting about 10hrs of light but just moved it further away today. Any advice will be appreciated. 🥲

I received this lovely ficus as a gift 9 months ago. I knew from the day I brought it home that he needed to be repotted, but I just didn’t get around to it. He was losing more leaves than he was making, and had some bare stems, so yesterday was finally the day. Note the size of the rootball vs the size of the original pot. The pot was filled with straight soil, no amendments. And originally, no drainage holes (I drilled some a month or so in). 😱 😭

Help! I got this maiden hair fern recently but I made the mistake of forgetting to water and mist for several days. And boy did it take a toll. Not making that mistake again 💔. There’s only one or two shoots that aren’t shriveled and all of them are brown or browning. I mist it every day and water every two to three days. There is a sweet, musty smell about it that makes me think it has too much water but the fronds are dry and shriveled making me think it has too much sun or not enough water. I don’t really know what to think about it. Does anyone know what the best course of action is to get her back on track? Is it even salvageable at all? I’m desperate to keep her alive so any help is greatly appreciated. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I bought this 2 days ago; when I brought it home I imported it to check the roots, I pulled off some darker brown/ softer ones, sprayed it with peroxide & repotted it in fresh soil. My question is, do I prune the old/curled leaves? If so how far back?

Hello! Can someone please tell me why my snake plant leaf looks this way? Should I cut it off. It feels moist as well.

Help! My poor striped calathea has already lost 6 leaves and continues to wilt and curl. I accidentally watered her with fertilizer mixed with tap water a few weeks ago and she lost some leaves. I did a regular watering last week with filtered water, but she’s still losing leaves. Is this from the liquid fertilizer mixed with tap water? Am i also overwatering? Most importantly what can I do to keep her from losing more leaves.

Franz the ficus is doing her best impression of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Why? 😬

Well I’m less than impressed with this Lily from Marks & Spencer. (Bought less than a week ago) I’ve removed the soggy bits but should I take it out of its pot to see if the rest of the roots are okay 🤷🏻‍♀️

George update! He’s grown his first full leaf back! Wanted to share the miraculous recovery of my “problem child”, my Hosta fortunei, George. He had a horrible case of anthracnose, arrived with slugs and isopods in the plant killing Miracle Grow soil that started rotting his roots, then got LAUNCHED clear across my deck from a storm two days after repotting him for the third time since I got him in May, chucked so hard he got tossed clear out of his pot and I found him hanging off the edge of my deck, completely reduced to his roots. FOUR repots and the very sad process of chopping all his leaves off, treating the fungal infection, and a SOAKING in hydrogen peroxide and water later, he lives! This is my PSA to anyone else with a “problem child”. If you don’t give up on them, they might not give up on you. 😊

bought this medinilla magnifica from the heavily reduced section of our local garden centre without really knowing what it was, and now i’m quite determined to get it thriving after seeing what it can bloom! originally it was covered in little mineral deposits so gave it a wipe and a repot, slight trim of a dead shoot, and have just been regularly watering/misting. have fertilised once anyone got any knowledge on what i could do to help this plant?
