Just a little happy appreciation post. I got this calathea orbifolia a little over two years ago (first picture) and then got into a bit of a plant burn out and it ended up in a really dark corner for about a year only being watered about once a month. It all died back except from 3 leave. I’ve recently rediscovered my love for plants / moved the orbifolia to a brighter spot and showed it a bit of love and look at the new growth!!! One new leaf and two new shoots popping up. I was planning on repotting in a smaller pot however I’m scared to do so with how dramatic I’ve heard these plants tend to be. Any tips on how I can encourage her would be great! :)

Why is my spider plant stem all browny and weak one day in soil , i gave it the tiniest water and ensured its fully drained? I did pull the stem up and it csme up likr this? Any way it can recover

This is my new plant I named her Ceña. It is a Dracaena. I got it from Lowe's she was on the sales rack I guess because she had all kind of brown leaves and brown spots on her. I wanted to see if I could bring her back to life or continue her life. I learned that this plant came from a farm in Florida. I wonder if it comes from a different growing area will that affect how it grows here in Wisconsin Time will only tell. Other than that it looks to be healthy I haven't really taken a good look at the soil yet for now I think we'll just leave it.

This is my Dieffenbachia I named it faux because of the fake leaves on the bottom of it to make it look more full, 😉 these are pictures of a broken leaf I don't know how to get broken but I let it hang to mourn it and to see if I could possibly bring it back some kind of way. Otherwise I'll just let it hang until it falls off.

I saw these cuties who might’ve been destined for the bin as they were on the clearance rack at Lowe’s and really want to try to nurse them both back to their beautiful healthy selves, any tips? I’ve watched a lot of reporting videos and palm care. Even bought a brand new pot with palm specific food to repot the Pygmy palm, and succulent food for the elephant bush.

I bought this money tree last year from a big box store. At the time I didn't really know much about plants. I repotted it but didn't loosen or take a good look at the roots. It did have a wire strangling it at the top of the braided trunk that I did my best to remove. Anyways, fast forward a few months. Lots of new growth... But *WEIRD* growth. Odd shaped leaves, leaves dying at the bottom of the plant... Then, out of nowhere, it randomly just started improving with no change in conditions. After a while, I decided to repot and take a better look at the roots... What did I find?! Elastic bands! It had broken them and I assume that's what caused the improvement. Anyways, the new leaves are drastically different than the old ones. The rubber bands around the roots is a real thing! Pic of old mutant leaf and new leaves.

My little guy here is looking rather droopy and yellowing leaves after a pretty regular watering schedule and proper light. Is it because the pot has gotten too small for it size? Thank you so much!

I was given this orchid as a gift (first picture). I have never had luck with orchids and I’m determined to keep this one alive. It’s been a week. It’s started so beautifully. I used 3 ice cubes after 1 week, as the instructions said, but it’s not looking well (second picture). What am I doing wrong, or do orchids just don’t like me? I’m beginning to take it personally.

My good friend Robert here is sad. I rescued him from drowning and lack of light by derooting, repotting in a perlite/bark/soil mix and moving closer to a window around 10 days ago and he is being incredibly sad about it all. I did everything that planta doctor/care told me to do based on how he looked before and if anything he looks a lot worse. Can anybody assist? I’ve attached photos from before and now!

This money tree was gifted to me. It has a bunch of damaged-looking leaves. Can you tell if it just needs some TLC or is there something serious going on?

Help— I’ve had Medusa here for over a year and she’s grown massively and even had some babies. I repotted her two months ago and she was doing well and enjoying the hanging height. But within this past week she’s fell ill. I’m not sure what’s up? No bugs or change in environment— any advice ??? I lightly mist her daily and sometimes boost her with light liquid fertilizer. I’m wary on not overwatering her but maybe I’ve fumbled …

The transformation of my Aloe from 2022 to 2024

This is my Mexican heather. It’s supposed to be year round, but after 1 month, it’s dried up. Any way to recover or are they dead?

This is my Asian snow/arabian jasmine. Not sure of its exact name. Have had it for 1 month. See how half of it (2 big branches) is dried up. Is that part dead and should I cut them off at the bottom near dirt? Or is there a chance for them to recover? If so, what can I do to help it? I know it’s lacking sunshine, I’m waiting for spring for the sun to come to my balcony. But if it’s a sunshine or even watering problem, why is only half dead? Help please!
