Hi, does anyone know of a way to treat thrips? My friend went on holiday and gave me her plants to look after but I’ve had to isolate them in a separate room as one had a really bad case of thrips and the other two are catching up. I really don’t want to have to throw them away, especially since I managed to revive them

Thrips are the bane of my existence. Don’t waste your time with organic treatments. Just get the strong stuff and blast them. Due to the thrips life cycle, you’ll need to not only treat the plant, but the soil as well. They lay there eggs in the leaf (protects the egg from spray treatments). Egg drops down into soil and becomes larvae. Larvae grow into adult and fly up to leaf and the cycle continues. Which is why you have to spray AND treat the soil. I use diatomaceous earth on my soil and I spray my plants weekly for a minimum of 21 days, or 2 treatments extra after I see the last bug.

They also travel VERY easily being able to fly around, so I’d just treat all your plants in the area of your infected ones.
