I need some information on Lavender! I bought it for the benefits of keeping insects away. But it has rained so much, it is wilting. Can anyone give me advice on healing? ❤️‍🩹

    Lavender wants absolutely garbage soil for some reason... And it does like to be dry. If your pot doesn't have enough drainage, you may need to actually switch to a different pot. Also, contrary to most gardening guidelines, this plant doesn't want a lot of organic matter in its soil. Organic matter holds a lot of water and tends to be nutrient-rich. Lavender wants well-draining, mineral-y soil. Maybe adding perlite and/or pumice would help?

      Thank you! I’ve never tried growing lavender before.But I figured I’m probably in the wrong state to grow it. I’m in Arkansas and it’s raining a lot. 🥴

    I'm in PA, and it's the same problem here... It can absolutely be done successfully but it takes a little learning! You'll do just fine. This community has helped me a ton so far.

    I have some lavender I'm growing indoors. I live in a good zone for it outdoors but it's doing well, if growing s little slowly. For one plant I used coconut fiber to grow it from seeds. The second one I used organic potting soil that was well draining and grew from seeds. It is growing a blooming well, and once germination happens it needs infrequent watering, preferring the soil to get a bit dry between waterings.

    I transplanted my lavender into dry soil, since it’s rained so much, then moved her inside by a window. Hopefully this helps! 😞
