Just picked up this plant from Home Depot on a whim—total impulse buy! I’m still learning, so I could really use some advice. The stems near the bottom are turning yellow—should I be worried? And it looks like the roots are circling the inside of the pot… is that a sign it’s time to repot? Thanks in advance for any help!
yes needs a repot asap!!!!

I would cut the leaf that has brown on it. If it doesn’t come off after cleaning

I did the exact same thing about 4 months ago and had the same problems. There are probably a lot of separate plants in your pot. With mine, I struggled in vain for like 2 hours to untangle the roots to separate them, but they would just not come apart. I ended up just chopping each of the stems as low as possible with at least a few roots. I ended up getting like 6 or 7 monsteras out of this and while they were all quite shocked by this, losing around half their leaves, they are all super healthy now and several have big beautiful leaves like the my photo below.
Btw, the yellowing of stems in your base is actually just old leaves that were cut back, but not all the way to the base so now the entire stem is dying. This is normal considering the leaves were cut off.
