Hello! I was wondering if you all had any ideas for the correct soil for my Zz plant, I haven’t repotted yet after getting it a month ago and I’ve heard they are easy at getting root rot because of their bulbous roots. Any ideas?

I know it seems extremely counterintuitive… But I put all of my Zzs in LECA and they are thriving. The key is just to keep the water reservoir very low.

Oh wow, I’ve never heard of that before, so do you water it the same as in regular soil and what kind of pot set up do you use?

I use water with foliage pro, and it’s OK if the reservoir goes empty, because they are very drought resistant, but I keep it super low. This is the set up I have:

So the pot that the Zz and LECA are in is just a regular nursery pot that I have added holes to.

I just repotted mine in a chunky mix. Bark, leca, coco coir, etc.

Is it fairly gritty or less so?
