This is my desert rose plant. I’ve had it for over 2 1/2 years. It has definitely gone through some trials. When I got it, it had aphids. I got rid of those, it has never bloomed. It looked better than this picture before, I gave it to my husband to take to work and it just looks sickly. This is my third attempt to see if someone can help me with my plant. Can I cut it back or do I just leave it and see what happens? I wanna bring it back to life hopefully to get it to bloom. What do you suggest?

    It looks like a lot of the original stems were cut back and grew new branches. You could definitely cut it back to a few branches so it can concentrate energy into 2-4 branches. I would definitely find out what season is best to cut it back and do it then. I vaguely remember a Martha Stewart plant episode where they said early spring.

      Thank you so much for the info. Yes I think I had cut them off originally because of the aphids. And thank you so much for responding. I’ve posted this in three different forums and you were the only one to respond with anything. I will definitely have to look up more info on this plant.

    something i learned recently is desert roses dont really like to bloom unless thehre slightly rootbound, if youre repotting it regularly it might not bloom

      Good to know. It had passed and so I took it out of the pot to get rid of all of the bad stuff. And then I had cut back some of the limbs because they were all infested, even after I sprayed with neem oil and soap. Thank you for your response.
