Help! I think the app had me over water and I’m new to the plant world so I don’t know how to save her! She’s a marble queen and she was sooooo beautiful.

Let her dry out more than usual.
いいね 1件Oh no! That’s okay, it’s easily fixed. I don’t follow the watering schedule in this app. It’s not the best and tells me to water so often and they do not need it yet!!! I would do the following: • Take the plant out of the pot and inspect your soil. Check for anything like fungus and see how much water is being retained. • Check for any root rot from over watering. If any of your roots are rotted, cut those off. Make sure you use a clean pair of scissors & 3% hydrogen peroxide to sanitize them. You can even spray the healthy roots after cutting off the rotted parts to help kill any bacteria left over. I always like to sanitize my pots as well, especially if you’re reusing an older one. •Cut off all the dead & yellow leaves, this will help the plant direct more energy to becoming healthier. This would also could be a good time to propagate if you have been thinking about it; so that the plant can focus more energy on healing. • Repot your plant with well draining soil. I like to make a mixture of fox farm potting soil - orchid bark - & perlite. • Treat your watering schedule like a flood and drought. Let the top inch or 2 dry out before you then flood the whole plant and allow it to soak up what it needs. If you’re not sure about when to water you can get a moisture meter that we’ll tell you what level of moisture your soil currently has, or a metal knitting needle work too. If you poke the needle into the soil and it comes out dry like you would with a cake in the over, it’s time to water! • And lastly, fertilizer is great for our house plants! You don’t have to do it every time you water, but you can do it once a month and it will really help your plants thrive.
