Its normal for traps to die (the ones going black). You can remove once the individuals have gone all black. It looks like its got a few new traps coming out, so I wouldn’t be worried about it :)

Honestly, as long as its got new growth I wouldn’t be too concerned. I often have multiple traps die at the same time due to their similar ages. Traps can only open/close a few times before they die off, so if those have been eating a lot thats another normal reason for them to die. These also enter a period of dormancy, the whole plant will go black and “die”. But it will come back in a few months if handled correctly (I’d suggest doing some research about this process). If you want to make adjustments, I would say based on the color of your healthy traps it could use more light. Your traps will go bright maroon/red when they’re getting enough light :)

Okay thank you! I just repotted him bc he had some really bad root rot, I’ll see how he fairs between now and the next growing season
