This aloe plant started wilting a couple months ago and I'm not sure what to do about it. It is in a southern facing window and gets good light all day, and I water it every other week when it gets super dry. Any tips would be appreciated!
My mom propagated one of those by division, as she had one growing wild in her yard. She gave it to me. Mine looks like that now. I'm not even sure what happened. I'm guessing maybe over-watering because right after my mom gave it to me, we had some torrential downpours. We'll see. It looks like it's on the mend though. It does have green growing out of it, but a lot of those brown leaves, spikes, whatever you call them, I have cut off. So far, the plant is still alive, but it ain't looking great. But it does look like it's on the mend.

Same thing happened to me. I ended up getting frustrated with the smell and tossed it lol. It's probably over watering especially if it has a scent like mine.

Not saying yours is the same, butine was exactly like that (like for ages), and after finally bothering to check it out, I learned it was actually getting TOO much sun. I moved it away from the scorching window, and it's almost completely "normal" green again!

Yes, MelB is so right. This type of Aloe likes to be in the shade full time. Rain water will not harm it, but the sun will. I’ve had one for years and it’s beautifully green because it gets no sun at all.
